Technical Reports
A Technical Advisory Board (TAB) was formed by MMCD in 1981 to provide annual independent review of the field control programs. TAB members represent the Minnesota Departments of Transportation, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Health, the University of Minnesota, the Environmental Protection Agency, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and other public and private interests. Each year, MMCD staff prepare an operational review and outline plans for the coming field season.

Studies and Research
MMCD frequently conducts our own studies and works with other agencies to determine the effectiveness and environmental safety of our control materials and efforts. Below are links to some of the studies we have conducted over the years.
- Review of the Rusty Patch Bumble Bee - UPDATED October 2020. Review of MMCD treatment procedures in relation to the protected species Rusty Patch Bumble Bee.
- Non-target Impact Studies (Larvicides) - Long-term study to determine the effect of Bti and methoprene on non-target species in wetlands.
- Risk Assessment of Scourge and Punt - Minnesota Department of Health assessment to ensure adult control materials pose no risk to human exposure.
- Spatial Overlap Between Milkweed (Asclepias spp.) and Pyrethroid Treatments - Non-target impact study done in 2006.
- Efficacy and Nontarget Effects of a Spinosad-Based Larvicide in Minnesota Vernal Pools and Cattail Marshes - Study published by Diann Crane, Carey LaMere, Stephen Manweiler of MMCD and Roger Moon of the University of Minnesota.
