December 31, 2020Video and Interactive Presentations Available for Teachers and Parents!
Calling all parents, teachers, and students: The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District wants to share our fun, informative video presentation with all of you! During a typical school year, MMCD employees visit classrooms ranging from early elementary up to high school to talk about the science of mosquito control. With restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we have moved that presentation all online with a fun and educational video. We would love for you to share it with learners of all ages!
The MMCD video includes information on:
- The Mosquito Life Cycle
- Mosquito Habitats
- How the Lab Identifies Mosquitoes
- How to Protect Yourself from Bites
- How to Control Mosquitoes
- Mosquito Control and the Environment
The video is broken up into 2-4 minute segments and presented in fun, educational ways including the Mosquito Bite Games, a competition to see who is smarter when it comes to avoiding mosquitoes.
In addition to the video, MMCD staff are also available for live video conferencing to answer questions or provide further information about any of the subjects. To request a time for live video conferencing or a virtual presentation, please contact Alex Carlson - acarlson@mmcd.org or (651) 643-8342.
