June 3, 2021Insect Update – Week of June 1st – Culex Out in Abundance, Cattail Mosquitoes Make Early Appearance
June 10, 2021The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District mascot needs a name! We want your suggestions.
A human-sized mosquito has been a more frequent appearance throughout the summer months at events, parades, and on social media. Our mascot helps to spread awareness about mosquito-borne disease and protective measures that people can take. She has folded wings, a long proboscis, and banded arms and legs - the one thing she does not have is A NAME!
We want YOUR help to name our mosquito mascot for 2021 and the foreseeable future. Name submissions will be reviewed by a panel of MMCD staff members and the winners will be announced on TUESDAY, JULY 13TH!
