Welcome to the Andover (aka ‘North’) facility page! Our facility has a full-time staff consisting of 6 Field Operations Supervisors and 1 Regional Operations Manager. We hire around 44 seasonal Field Mosquito Technicians and 4 Drone Technicians for the summer mosquito season (April-October.) We are excited to have two drones at our facility that help us treat larval mosquitoes in those hard-to-reach wetlands! Our facility has some of the most diverse landscapes in the district including wetlands, forests, prairies, oak savannah, and tamarack bogs. Our facility has over 16,000 documented wetland mosquito breeding sites, totaling around 66,000 acres! Many of these acres are treated by our helicopter, that you have probably seen flying around.
The thing we enjoy the most about this job is that you get to do something new every day! Our daily shift is 6:30 am – 3 pm. A day on the job will consist of a meeting with your Field Operations Supervisor and a crew of 7-8 other Technicians and then going into the field to do a wide array of mosquito control either independently or with others. Daily tasks include larval inspections and treatments in wetlands, adult inspections and treatments, and disease vector prevention. We also have opportunities to do more tasks to gain experience if interested. We hire a wide range of ages from college students to retirees. Come join our facility, we’d love to have you!
