Welcome to the Andover, or “North” facility page! Our facility consists of 6 Field Operations Supervisors and 1 Regional Operations Manager, that work full-time. We hire around 44 seasonal Field Technicians for the summer (mosquito) season. Four of these seasonal positions are drone technicians. You heard that right, MMCD has transitioned into drone work. We are excited to have 2 drones at our facility this year that help us treat larval mosquitoes in those hard-to-reach wetlands! Our facility has one of the most diverse landscapes including wetlands, forests, prairies, oak savannah, and tamarack bogs. Our facility has over 16,000 documented wetland mosquito breeding sites. That totals around 66,000 acres! Many of these acres are treated by our helicopter, that you have probably seen flying around.
The thing we enjoy the most about this job is that you get to do something new every day! We work an early 6:00 - 2:30 shift to try and beat the summer heat. A day on the job will consist of a meeting with your Field Operations Supervisor and a crew of 7-8 Technicians. Daily tasks include larval inspections and treatments in wetlands, and adult inspections and treatments. We also have opportunities to do more tasks to gain experience if interested. We hire a wide range of ages from college students to retirees. Come join our facility, we’d love to have you!
