Welcome to the Jordan Facility! We’d love to have you work with us this summer. Here we hire for the Field Mosquito Technician position. Our starting time is 6:30am and our end time for the day is 3:00pm, with opportunities for overtime available. We have a full-time Regional Operations Manager, and four full-time Field Operations Supervisors. Each season we hire 24 Seasonal Field Mosquito Technicians. The Field Tech position begins in mid-April and has the potential to last until mid-October, with flexible start and end dates. At our facility we have 4 field crews. Each field crew is tasked with working in certain areas in Scott, Carver, and Hennepin counties. Crews will have up to 6 technicians who will work together and independently to help lower human or disease vector mosquito numbers in their service area. In addition to this, field technician staff will have opportunities to monitor and respond to human biting black fly and tick species in the area.
Our service area is diverse and very large. The area spans from New Germany to New Market and encompasses everything in between. The locations that you would be working in range from wetlands like ponds, swamps, streams, and rivers to woodlands and neighborhoods.
Every day is different. You will have opportunities to work alone, in small teams, or in a large group. We train our Field Technicians on the job and don’t send them out alone until they are comfortable with the tasks for that day.
